You know what I mean… You’re sitting on your suitcase, desperately trying to get it to close, hoping the zippers don't give up on you. And when you finally arrive, you realize half the stuff you brought stays untouched the entire trip, so we’ve put together a simple, stress free Jamaica packing list. Let’s get into it!

Essential Items to pack for a trip to Jamaica
Clothing
Take half as many clothes as you think you need. (Trust me on this!)
T-shirts, shorts and lightweight dresses for daytime and dinners. Stick to breathable, thin fabrics to keep you cool in the island heat.
4-6 swimsuits. You’ll need backups for beach days and pool lounging.
2 pairs of sandals/flipflops. One for the beach/pool, one backup pair.
Water shoes. Perfect for beach walks, exploring waterfalls, or swimming in rocky areas.
A light sweater for cool evenings by the water.
Comfy walking shoes for exploring the island and doing excursions.
Toiletries & Essentials
Sunscreen (Don’t skip this the sun in Jamaica is no joke!)
Aloe vera gel in case you do get a little too much sun.
Mosquito repellent. The mosquitoes are living their best life in Jamaica. Let’s not make it at your expense.
Chapstick (preferably with SPF) to keep those lips hydrated.
Want to skip the hassle ? Shop our Jamaica Travel Essentials Tote. Everything you need is included inside. This tote ships directly to your resort, hotel or villa and will be waiting for you to pick up when you check in.
Accessories
A small versatile bag (think dinner or a night out) and a beach tote for carrying the essentials.
Insulated tumbler so you don’t have to keep going back and forth for drinks.
Power bank for days out and long stays on the beach or by the pool.
An extra phone charging cable.
Makeup and perfume to freshen up for dinner or nights out.
Jamaica’s electrical socket is similar to the United States, so you may not need a converter but double check your devices to be sure.
Important Climate Notes
Jamaica is a tropical country, so you can expect warm, sunny weather with some chances of rain.
That’s it! No need to overthink or overpack. This list has everything you need for an amazing trip to Jamaica. Now pack those bags, book that trip (if you haven’t already) and get ready to soak up some sun!
